NFL Draft 2021: Final 32-pick Round 1 mock with trades
With the 2021 NFL Draft among us, it’s time to mock the picks of the 49ers as well as others as a petty distraction until the real draft begins.
As is fast becoming a tradition as the San Francisco 49ers and other 31 teams get into the final preparations for the NFL Draft, it’s mock time!
Mock drafts aren’t real drafts, of course, and there’s simply no way to predict every pick or trade that we’ll see in Round 1. But it is a fun exercise to do, if for no other reason than to help educate yourself on the various prospects if the NFL Draft isn’t something you get very interested in.
Mock drafts are also more difficult than ever this year when you consider factors such as the irregular college season, some players electing to opt out, teams conducting interviews virtually and not in person, and teams not always playing full schedules.
Doing a mock NFL Draft is an exercise in futility. In my mock draft last year, I managed to do the following:
- Mock quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert to the Chargers and Dolphins, respectively
- Mocked wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to the 49ers
- Put Tristian Wirfs at No. 4 to the New York Giants, starting a domino effect where I got every single tackle pick wrong
And that’s just a few of the examples in here!
But that doesn’t deter me, and the mock draft is back again this year!
Let’s remember to be forgiving here as well. After the draft, we might look back on this and see more things wrong than right, as a matter of fact, I’m pretty sure that will be the case.
So with that in mind, here’s the mock NFL Draft for 2021. Complete with trades and explanations.
