After the 49ers’  massive NFL Draft trade with the Dolphins, it’s time to look closer at some round-to-round prospects on San Francisco’s big board.

One predictable thing about the NFL Draft is that it’s always unpredictable. It’s an exciting time, especially if the San Francisco 49ers are involved in these shenanigans.

With the Niners making a franchise-altering trade with the Miami Dolphins to lock in the No. 3 overall pick in the draft, it’s clear this immediate future won’t be any normal time for the franchise.

With San Francisco seemingly locked in on a quarterback to lead the team into the new era, questions still arise over what the 49ers will do with incumbent quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Will he become a bridge quarterback for the rookie, or will he be cut/traded to save cap space?

Given the Niners were seemingly in the market for a veteran backup earlier this offseason, I’d say the odds are on the latter.

But this isn’t an article about that. San Francisco has a very talented roster still capable of making the playoffs regardless of a rookie quarterback at the helm. With the 49ers able to constantly hit home runs in later rounds, such as All-Pro talents in linebacker Fred Warner and tight end George Kittle, whom the team selects goes a long way.

This is a difficult draft to calculate. The disjointed college season combined with some players deciding to opt out due to the COVID-19 pandemic means it’s never been more difficult to evaluate talent.

But Niner Noise isn’t afraid of a challenge, evaluate we shall.

We’ll be looking at some different prospects in each round, detailing what makes them so attractive and how they fit into San Francisco’s philosophy on offense and defense. After all, a seventh-round prospect who contributes on special teams can still be an exceptionally valuable pick given how many picks don’t even make the roster in those rounds.

This is by no means a complete big board, but these are all picks who make sense for the 49ers and could definitely be under consideration.
