SF 49ers NFL Draft Fit No. 2: Tight End Kyle Pitts

There isn’t much of an introduction needed for the Florida Gators’ superstar sensation that is tight end Kyle Pitts.

Pitts is being touted as one of the best pass-catching prospects of all-time. He not only possesses all the tools to be an elite tight end but can probably slide over to a wide receiver if need be as well.

He carries a massive 6-foot-6, 246-pound frame along with the speed and agility of a big-time workhorse wide receiver. It’s like watching a wide receiver of Julio Jones’ prowess in tight end Darren Waller’s body with the blocking attributes of the SF 49ers’ own tight end, George Kittle. Some argue, aside from Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, Pitts is the best player in this year’s NFL Draft, and letting him slip past the No. 8 overall pick should be illegal.

Kyle Shanahan would have an absolute field-day with Pitts running ramped in his system. Adding Pitts to San Francisco would be borderline unfair. Yards after the catch is an understatement with this guy.

There isn’t much of a chance Pitts ends up with the SF 49ers, but one could only dream. And if other teams selecting ahead of the Niners are busy rounding out their selections with other prospects, forcing Pitts to fall to No. 12 overall, it’s hard to envision Shanahan wanting to pass up on this prolific tight end’s insane talents.
