No. 3: Buccaneers Punter Bradley Pinion

Speaking of former SF 49ers players, fans may have never embraced their former punter, Bradley Pinion, especially after he was selected by the Niners in Round 5 of the 2015 NFL Draft, the first specialist selected when San Francisco needed to grab some much-needed reinforcements elsewhere.

It also didn’t help Pinion had some massive shoes to fill, as the SF 49ers moved on from perennial Pro Bowl punter Andy Lee that offseason, too.

Nevertheless, it’s hard to pin that on Pinion. And by all accounts, he’s a pretty darned good person. Case in point, that one time he surprised a good friend with Super Bowl tickets back in 2017 after being nominated as the Niners’ Walter Payton Man of the Year candidate:

The Buccaneers, who inked Pinion as a free agent in 2019, are hoping he doesn’t have to take the field too much outside of being a holder or kickoff specialist.

But if they win, at least his good-deed efforts from his time before would be nicely rewarded, and it’s never a bad thing for fans to get behind that.
