No. 2: Chiefs Running Back Clyde Edwards-Helaire

The Chiefs have an awfully disproportionate number of offensive weapons at their disposal. And while Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and wide receiver Tyreek Hill get plenty of attention, one of the more exciting players Kansas City fielded this season was rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

The regular-season stats don’t necessarily jump out at you: 181 rushes for 803 yards and four touchdowns to go along with 36 receptions for 297 yards and another touchdown. But considering the Chiefs are a pass-first team anyway, Edward-Helaire being such a weapon sure is enticing.

And it’s never a bad idea to pull for rookies performing well on the biggest of stages.

If anything, at least from San Francisco fans’ vantage points, it’ll be hard to see Mahomes, Kelce or Hill win a game MVP award if Kansas City pulls off back-to-back Super Bowl wins. But if Edwards-Helaire has himself a game and comes away with the game’s MVP award, it wouldn’t be too bad at all.

Maybe that’s a good enough reason to root for him on Super Bowl Sunday.
