No. 2: SF 49ers Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon

There were big expectations heading into 2019 for cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon. He started the season off with a bang getting a pick-six in the first game of the season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But that would be his lone interception for the season.

He played well for the first few games of the season but then missed a few games in the middle stretch due to injury. He began to struggle upon his return which culminated with him being replaced by Emmanuel Moseley in the divisional round of the playoffs against the Minnesota Vikings.

2020 seemed like a good season for him to have a bounce back. But instead, he has played sparingly, only starting in the Week 2 victory against the New York Jets. He was healthy and didn’t even start in the game against the Miami Dolphins, only entering due to the extreme struggles of Brian Allen.

In the past two games, Witherspoon has been healthy but not seen the field, which is not a good sign.

As this is his contract season, this may be his last one in red and gold.
