SF 49ers Standout No. 3: Running Back Raheem Mostert

Running back Raheem Mostert made his return to the field against the Dolphins on Sunday. After missing the last two games due to knee injury, he was expected to make a big splash in his return.

Mostert played well and was efficient on every carry. He had 11 carries for 90 yards, averaging 8.2 yards per rush attempt.

On every attempt, he seemed to get a big burst. During his two-game absence, San Francisco’s ground attack clearly lacked Mostert’s explosiveness and speed. And if the Week 5 game remained close, he likely would have gotten more carries and been even more effective.

However, the SF 49ers fell behind early and the passing game became a big part of their offense. Mostert, however, was great and didn’t show any signs of rust in his return.
