Seattle Seahawks: Quarterback Russell Wilson

OK, this is going to anger some/many fans of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

Sorry, Jimmy.

But let’s face it, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is the clear-cut best signal-caller in the NFC West. There shouldn’t be any arguments about that regardless of how much Niners fans dislike the Seahawks, dislike Wilson and so on. Yet one could argue many a 49ers fan would quickly turn if Wilson was suddenly donning red and gold, much like they did when Richard Sherman jumped ship from Seattle to San Francisco back in 2018.

Plus, Wilson has that one massive X-factor Garoppolo has yet to display: the ability to carry his team fully over the course of a full season. While it’s possible Jimmy G can turn into this kind of quarterback, and hopefully soon, Wilson has long since shown that knack for helming his team into the postseason on a regular basis regardless of the levels of talent around him.

And if you’re questioning it, ask yourself this: What would the Seahawks’ records be the past three or four years without Wilson under center?

Now, take that same thought and envision a situation where Wilson joins a stacked Niners team with weapons on both sides of the ball and an offensive line capable enough to protect him.

If that wouldn’t put San Francisco into the No. 1 contention spot for a Super Bowl, it’s hard to think what would.
