. Defensive Tackle. Tigers . Derrick Brown. 7. player. 842

If I had made a final big board tonight, Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown would be No. 2 on my NFL Draft big board behind Chase Young. If the Carolina Panthers nab him here, then they’ve gotten a major steal.

It’s not hyperbole when I say Brown should be more in the running as a potential No. 1 pick. Defensive tackles never seem to quite get the respect they should compared to quarterbacks or EDGE players, but Brown is truly an elite prospect.

Interior pressure is more important than ever in the passing era of the NFL, and a defensive tackle who can combine that as well as be a brick wall in run defense is at a premium.

Brown ticks these boxes. He’s going to get players whether in the passing or running game. He has an array of pass-rushing moves to go with his stout run defense, and he’s very rarely beaten.

For such a defensive weapon, getting him at No. 7 would be ridiculous.
