829. . Quarterback. Crimson Tide . Tua Tagovailoa. 6. player

I do wonder what would happen if Tua Tagovailoa didn’t get hurt during the season. Would the Bengals want him or Joe Burrow? Could this have been a QB battle where we didn’t know what direction they go in until Thursday night?

I’m of the opinion Tagovailoa would be going No. 1 if he didn’t hurt himself, and I’m much higher on him than most, but I’m sure the Chargers don’t care as long as he falls to them.

In the post-Philip Rivers era and a new stadium coming up, the Chargers grab their signal-caller of the future here. Los Angeles is not a football city, so the Chargers need a marketing tool as well as a future franchise quarterback.

Tagovailoa doesn’t have a cannon, but he hasn’t got a water gun for an arm either. He’ll have the arm strength to make throws, and he’s mentally very solid and goes through progressions and decision making very well.

If he didn’t have some durability concerns, he would be at worst in the candidacy for the No. 1 pick.
