No. 1: Running Back Jeff Willson Jr.

Running back Jeff Wilson Jr. is the obvious selection of practice squad player to impact player. His impact was felt quite early on in 2019. Due to an ankle injury suffered by running back Tevin Coleman in Week 1 of the 2019 season, Wilson was activated for Week 2.

In a Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Wilson carried the ball 10 times for 34 yards and two touchdowns.

He would go onto appear in 10 regular-season games in 2019, rushing for 105 yards on 27 carries and scoring four touchdowns. That gave him an average of 3.9 yards per attempt on the season.

Efficient would be one word to describe him.

When given opportunities, Wilson made the most of them. This sentiment was epitomized in a Week 11 game against the Arizona Cardinals. On the one offensive snap he played, he caught the game-winning touchdown as time expired.

Between his regular-season appearances in 2018 and 2019, Wilson has shown he can be a productive back in Shanahan’s offense.

Look for him to continue to bring efficiency to the running game for San Francisco in 2020.
