Standing in their way might be the most dynamic offense in the league in the Kansas City Chiefs, led by a former NFL MVP in Patrick Mahomes.
In countless articles and videos, we’ve seen debate and theories abound on how to stop Mahomes from taking over the game. It’s justifiable. The Chiefs came back from big deficits in both their playoff games. and it’s beyond doubt that they were driven by the play of their quarterback.
While stopping Mahomes is probably the top priority if the 49ers want to be victorious in Miami, there are a number of other battles the 49ers can win that could prove even more significant than slowing down the 2018 MVP.
After all, Mahomes threw for 446 yards and three touchdowns in a 32-35 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 10. You can beat Kansas City without beating Mahomes.
Of course, with all of the attention on the big stars and matchups for the Super Bowl, it’s easy to miss some more secondary (but no less important) matchups between the Chiefs and Niners.
As such, we’ll be taking a look at the five matchups that are flying under the radar, but should be on the minds of everyone for Super Bowl LIV.
