It’s NFC Championship day and the San Francisco 49ers need one more win to make it back to the Super Bowl. Join Niner Noise’s resident Australian as he follows the game to the end.

Oh boy, the day is finally here for the San Francisco 49ers.

Dare we dream?

I’m so beyond nervous, I can’t even imagine what the players and coaches are feeling.

  • Oh no, not Troy Aikman and Joe Buck.
  • I’ll take a potato and a slightly rusty piece of barbed wire for commentary over this.

Aikman’s voice goes through me like a dentist drill.

    More from SF 49ers News

  • Back to the game, the defense needs to play even better in my opinion than they did against Minnesota to win, you can’t go past the experience of Aaron Rodgers as an important factor.
  • For some reason I always prefer San Francisco kicking first, the fact we have the ball makes me feel weirdly empty for some reason.

  • Oh look, Jimmy Garoppolo‘s girlfriend is doing sideline commentary at least.
  • “Feel’s good baby.”

    Here we go!

  • Makes sense to give Tevin Coleman the first carry, but I still feel Raheem Mostert has the most carries by the end.
  • Ugh, not a good offensive start.

Feels weird to see the run blocking fail to be honest.

Oh come on, why don’t you just drop it if you’re going to go for a highlight reel fair catch?

  • Wow, Richard Sherman is on the wrong side of the field. Are they going for blanket coverage?
  • Apparently not, as Davante Adams caught the ball with Sherman on the other side of the field on that screen.
  • Always good to see Kwon Alexander back.
  • Woo! Dre Greenlaw has a knack of sniffing out screens and passes in the flat.
  • Gee, the Packers aren’t going for it on 4th and 1?

    I sniff an early fake.

Clearly I have no idea what I’m smelling.

Alright, let’s try this offense thing again.

  • I love when Deebo Samuel turns on the jets.
  • If Deebo had stayed up and ran for a touchdown on that second catch, I would have instantly gone and ordered his jersey.

    I probably still will anyway.

The offense is humming along nicely at the moment, I was a tad worried after the first drive, I won’t lie.

Kyle Shanahan got a touch too fancy with that screen. Mind you I’d be calling him a genius if it had worked.

    KYLE SHANAHAN IS A GENIUS!

I did not see a draw on 3rd and 8 happening.

Neither did the Green Bay defense.

Which is why he’s a genius.

Good start, 7-0 to the good guys!

Green Bay seem to be utilizing a lot of misdirection with their passing at the moment. Interesting.

  • Nick Bosa! Those tackles at the line of scrimmage are almost as impressive as his sacks.
  • Bosa and DeForest Buckner get Rodgers on third down!
  • Robert Saleh goes wild!

  • Richie James with a pretty darn nice return, 49ers have a big chance to go up by two scores early.
  • Gee Kenny Clark went low on Garoppolo there.
  • 15 yard penalty doesn’t make it hurt as much though.

Damn, third down sack on Garoppolo ends what could have been a scoring drive.

Oh I apologize, we’re still in field goal range.

Right through the middle and it’s 10-0 early in the second quarter. 49ers did just enough.

  • Emmanuel Moseley stuffs a screen to Aaron Jones in a big play there.
  • FUMBLE! Packers keep the football but K’Waun Williams knocked it out.
  • That was very simple to the fumble that Rodgers had in the first game earlier this season.

    Shanked punt alert!

It would have been awesome if we had recovered the fumble, but that’s still a great result.

Big chance to go up by three scores here.

Gee I thought Mostert was going to take it to the house there.

Gee I thought Mostert was going to take it to the house there. Again.

Coleman got hurt on that play. Which was another run I thought might have gone all the way except for a last ditch tackle.

It looks like he really badly got hurt too. I haven’t seen the cart brought out for many arm injuries, I sure hope it isn’t broken.

    TOUCHDOWN! Mostert again!

What a story this season has been for him.

17-0 to the 49ers, it’s a dream start for sure.

Can the defense sack Rodgers again?

Green Bay offense is starting to hum a little bit here.

    Wait, what just happened?

Wait, since when do the opponents drop a snap? Isn’t that our thing?

    Well, we’ll take it.

Rodgers looks like someone decided not to go with State Farm.

Oh my, Mostert is going to be the game MVP at this rate.

If the 49ers go up 24-0, that’d be almost the perfect half.

  • George Kittle and Emmanuel Sanders haven’t touched the ball either, by the way.
  • 4th down and maybe two yards to go in the redzone.

I like aggression, I want to see them go for it after the two minute warning.

Kyle Shanahan disagrees, I think we can all agree he probably knows more about what to do than myself.

20-0 to the 49ers, what a first half.

Wow, a dropped kickoff. Don’t see one of those everyday.

  • Ahkello Witherspoon brings him down, nice to see him make a play on special teams.
  • Jimmie Ward did a back body drop, to use the wrestling term.
  • If the 49ers stop them here, it’d be interesting to see if San Francisco try to score again.

    INTERCEPTION BY EMMANUEL MOSELEY!!!

Everything is going perfectly for San Francisco right now!

Mostert is having himself a career day, third touchdown for him in the first half!

Ball goes through the middle and it’s 27-0!

  • Mostert looks like Barry Sanders and Jim Brown the way he just goes over and through the Green Bay defense.
  • 49ers call for a timeout, do they want the ball again?

Not much time for much other than a heave to the endzone.

Just went for a desperation block, didn’t work but why not.

27-0 at half time. That’s way better than I could have imagined.

Here we go, can we get more of the same?

Rodgers has to pass a lot more, so there’s a lot of opportunities for sacks here.

It looks like Adams is under total double coverage now. That’s a very good idea.

Green Bay went for a double reverse back to Rodgers for what was supposed to be a bomb, but the 49ers defense played that very well.

Unfortunately overall the Packers offense looks like it’s threatening here.

The Packers are reduced to using screens to get Adams into the game.

The issue is with double coverage, it’s hard to get open from that.

Packers have been a little undisciplined with penalties. In the meantime I don’t think San Francisco have been called once as of yet.

First and goal for the Packers, there’s been a ton of screens in this drive to lessen Rodger’s exposure to the defensive line.

Another screen, and this one goes for a touchdown.

I hope that’s not the start of a comeback. 27-7 to the 49ers.

The 49ers have been so dominating with the run, that I wonder if it isn’t worth perhaps a deep bomb here.

Nope, the 49ers are going to keep running. Can’t argue with the results to be honest.

I love that reverse to Deebo.

  • I really love that reverse to Deebo.
  • Oh wow, Mostert is playing with a cheat code on. That’s touchdown No. 4.

I wonder what the fantasy score would be for him.

34-7 to the 49ers, ridiculous stuff.

Also ridiculous, Mostert’s 196 yards for the game so far is a 49ers postseason record.

It isn’t even the end of the third quarter so I suspect he’s going to get a few more carries.

Comfortable lead, let’s see what the defense can do.

Warner somehow deflected a pass without looking. Wish I could do that.

  • Well that’s the first 49ers penalty of the game. Bit undisciplined by Dee Ford there.
  • And the Packers will instantly give the yards back, plus change, with a holding call.

Greenlaw a bit banged up, but he seems alright.

End of the third quarter. 34-7 to the good guys and only one quarter away from going to the Super Bowl!

Well a bit of a lapse in coverage means it’s now 34-13 to start the fourth.

    It’s a sniff, I don’t want Green Bay to have a sniff.

Touchdown overturned, but I suspect it will just be run in here.

    And it is, 34-13 again.

    Two point conversion time.

Adams drops the ball, the game stays at 34-13.

49ers need to close the door right here, right now.

Onside kick is easily recovered by San Francisco.

Garoppolo has the easiest job in football right now, just hand it to whoever needs the football.

Just waiting for Mostert to get over 200 yards.

There it is, 202 yards for Mostert.

Going for it on 4th and 1, I like it. Just bleed the clock as much as you can.

Or just try to draw them offside. Didn’t work but didn’t mind it.

Need a defensive stop here, a touchdown means they’re very much still in it.

Oh goodness, the 49ers just gave up a desperation bomb on 3rd and 5.

This is the time where I get a bit nervous here.

Oh how are they giving that a flag!?

Common sense prevails, that would have been a totally bogus penalty.

Touchdown, and now I am very nervous. The 49ers have a tendency not to kill off teams that they should.

Look at Seattle in Week 17. Way closer than it needed to be.

34-20 to San Francisco, the offense has to at the very least chew time off the clock.

Oh my god it’s a passing play!

    Kittle finally gets a catch!

Kittle is interfered with very obviously on third down, and the 49ers continue to bleed the clock.

Commentators are trying to make it like it wasn’t a good flag. This is why I hate Aikman and Buck.

Running is getting less effective now. Time to bust out the playaction?

Or the screen, that works too.

Especially when it goes for a first down.

Replays show it may be inches short here.

Yep, Mostert was short by less than a yard.

    Doesn’t matter, it’s a first down anyway.

Mostert’s 213 yards as of typing is the most by any runner in San Francisco history. A simply historic performance.

  • If Robbie Gould kicks this field goal, it’s almost definitely be game over.
  • Right through the middle, 37-20 and we can start thinking about the Super Bowl now.

  • Arik Armstead forces a fumble from Rodgers, it remains in the hands of the Packers but the defense can pad some stats now.
  • Rodgers completes a 4th and 13. Should be too little too late, but I would rather shut the door here.

Richard Sherman picks off a desperation heave and that’ll end it.

As I write this, it feels like it’s only now just sunk in.

From 4-12 to 13-3 and a Super Bowl berth.

It’s a testament to the hard work of this team.

These will be the most satisfying kneels in quite some time.

And that’ll do it! 49ers are in the Super Bowl!
