No. 1: EDGE Nick Bosa

Rookie EDGE Nick Bosa might have been held out of the sack category the past three weeks. But it’s impossible to overlook the seven sacks he’s already posted this season, which are tied for 16th most entering Week 12 and are just one behind the leading rookie, Jacksonville Jaguars EDGE Josh Allen.

But one could make the argument Allen hasn’t quite had the same impact Bosa has enjoyed over the course of the year. In many ways, Bosa has been far more complete a player than his fellow first-round NFL Draft pick.

There’s a pretty safe argument Bosa is shaping up to be the league’s Defensive Rookie of the Year for 2019. And while Bosa’s sack totals have stayed put in recent weeks, he is still impacting the game with both pressure and tackles.

It might be tough for Bosa to live up to the kind of recognition he was getting, when some were tabbing him as a potential Defensive Player of the Year award winner this season. But getting a Pro Bowl nod is not only well within reach, rather looking to be about as big a shoo-in the Niners have had this side of the ball in quite some time.
