L, 23-3 vs. Browns

Quarterback Sam Darnold is out with mono, which makes this feel like middle school. His backup, Trevor Siemian was knocked out of the game with an ankle injury, giving way to third stringer Luke Falk.

If anything, the New York Jets deserve a little credit for making their Monday Night Football bout against the Cleveland Browns a non-blowout, at least for a while. And on a night when other key players were out, such as linebacker C.J. Mosley, the Jets defense did a good job frustrating Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield for the first three quarters.

The good news is New York is better than it played Monday night. How much, though, is up for debate.

Darnold is going to be out for a little while, though, and it’s going to be hard watching Siemian or Falk under center, if Week 2 was any indication.

At least running back Le’Veon Bell is exciting… except when he fumbles on a would-have-been-nice play.
