Stock up: Richie James

One wide receiver who did help his draft stock was Richie James, and it’s hard not to see him on the roster come Week 1.

James caught all four of his targets for 66 yards, and was also caught a pass by Jimmy Garoppolo in his snaps with the starters. He was so impressive that Pro Football Focus named him the best player on the field (for both 49ers and Chiefs) for the game.

He looks to have the kick-return job sown up, and he seems to get better on offense every week.

While it would be pushing it to describe him as a lock, James has moved himself from a projected roster cut to being well on the strong side of the roster bubble.

As a non-starter, James has one more game to put the cherry on top and force his way onto the roster for 2019.
