The Los Angeles Rams aren’t going to win the NFC again, and they could suffer a notable fall in NFL power rankings over the season as well.
Last year was their all-in year, and Los Angeles has far too many question marks to overcome any sort of Super Bowl hangover.
For head coach Sean McVay and his offense, it all starts with the running game. And while all reports are suggesting running back Todd Gurley’s knee is just fine and he’ll be 100 percent by Week 1, grabbing Memphis’ Darrell Henderson in Round 3 was a little interesting.
Perhaps McVay wants a dual-headed approach, or maybe the Rams aren’t totally sold on Gurley being as big a factor they envisioned him being late last season.
Henderson is awfully talented, though, so that’s a good problem to have.
The offensive line, which was old to begin with last year, didn’t get too many reinforcements, which casts doubt on Gurley and Henderson’s abilities to run the ball effectively.
Can defensive tackle Aaron Donald carry the defense again? He’ll have to, especially with his former linemate, Ndamukong Suh, no longer in the picture.
L.A. holds a spot in the top three of NFL power rankings, but that might not last long in the regular season.
