No. 2: Kyle Shanahan is entering his third full season as head coach

When hired as head coach, Kyle Shanahan had no experience overseeing an entire NFL team.

His second season has come to a close and the results have not been great. This was expected, though. This was not a win-now job.

Now, with two seasons under his belt, it would be hard to deny that Shanahan has learned a few things on the job.

His ever-changing playbook can continue to grow going into Jimmy Garoppolo’s second full season with the team. His oversight of all three phases should improve. In-game management should become more second nature.

His experience and growth as head coach will be instrumental in adding to the win column.
