EDGE. Mississippi State. Montez Sweat. 24. player. 26.

It would probably be smart for the Baltimore Ravens to find some playmaking offensive weapons for quarterback Lamar Jackson this offseason, although there are some pretty serious contractual decisions to deal with on the defensive side of the ball.

And with the Ravens defense being the top reason why this team is here in the playoffs, it makes sense for Baltimore to take advantage of a deep cast of impact playmakers early and often.

Who knows if outside linebackers Terrell Suggs and Za’Darius Smith are back next year. Inside linebacker C.J. Mosley is another player the Ravens would like to bring back. Either way, finding a long-term replacement for the veteran, Suggs, would be ideal — someone to replicate his excellent pass-rushing ways that have been a staple of Baltimore’s defense for years.

Mississippi State’s Montez Sweat has some character concerns, sure. But he’s also extremely violent off the edge, and he’s only beginning to reach his ceiling at this stage of his career, which has helped him climb out of a Round 2 NFL Draft grade.
