2019 NFL Draft: Complete two-round mock for every team, New Year’s Day version
By Peter Panacy
The following stat should tell you all you need to know about what the Cincinnati Bengals need to do this offseason:
Like the Raiders and a number of other teams, the Bengals need to upgrade all sorts of positions on the defensive side of the ball. The secondary needs help. So does linebacker. And that defensive line has been a disappointment, too.
Fortunately, Houston’s Ed Oliver — a player many viewed as a top-five pick earlier this year — is still available outside the top 10.
Sure, he might have some character concerns. But Cincinnati has shown a willingness to put up with those sorts of things as long as he performs on the field.
Oliver can, and that’s a good thing for the Bengals.
