2019 NFL Draft: Complete two-round mock for every team, New Year’s Day version
By Peter Panacy
The Green Bay Packers have plenty of needs on both sides of the ball. They’ll need to find a pass-rushing linebacker to replace Clay Matthews, who’s in the final year of his contract. Some defensive line help would be nice, and it’s possible the Packers try to get some bona fide receiving weapons for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
That said, the Packers are still searching for quality help in their secondary. And while cornerback is a need — Kevin King is looking more and more like an oft-injured bust — it’s just as likely Green Bay seeks to replace safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, whom they traded off to the Washington Redskins earlier this season.
Alabama safety Deionte Thompson has risen up big boards as of late, looking like the kind of quality defensive back capable of providing that immediate upgrade the Packers need at the back end of their defense.
