Joe Jackson. 31. player. 124. . EDGE. Miami (FL)

The Kansas City Chiefs need all the help they can get on the defensive side of the ball. Whether it be in the secondary, among their linebackers or up front in the trenches, the Chiefs are an average defense away from being serious Super Bowl contenders. Right now, their high-flying offense is keeping them hot in the mix.

But even in this offensive-happy NFL era, defenses are needed for postseason success. Kansas City doesn’t have one.

Outside of defensive tackle Chris Jones, the Chiefs could use a lot of help along the defensive line. This group misses a lot of tackles and fails to generate enough pressure on opponents’ quarterbacks.

So while some of the preeminent pass-rushers are gone by this point in Round 1, looking at Miami (Fla.) EDGE Joe Jackson would be a good idea. At 6-foot-5 and 258 pounds, Jackson has the body type to use either as a coverage outside linebacker or a pass-rushing edge player. He has excellent bend and good quickness to get into the pocket.

Jackson alone could help turn the Chiefs defense around enough.
