Julian Love. 30. player. 49. . Cornerback. Notre Dame

This is the pick the Packers acquired in the 2018 NFL Draft move that allowed the New Orleans Saints to grab EDGE Marcus Davenport.

Green Bay addressed the pass rush with its first Round 1 selection. Now it’s time to find some help within the secondary. It’s pretty clear cornerback Kevin King isn’t going to be a bona fide ballhawk at the pro level. He’s often injured too, and it might be wise to relegate King to a support role rather than a featured defensive back.

So the Packers are on the market for a corner again, and Notre Dame’s Julian Love would be a nice option to replace King.

At 5-foot-11, some might see Love more as a nickel back. But Love plays bigger than his size indicates. And if he’s primarily in zone coverage, he could thrive on the boundary in areas where King has struggled.

If that doesn’t work, Love would be a solid choice to replace Ha Ha Clinton-Dix at safety.
