No. 1: Which Jimmy Garoppolo will we get?

This wasn’t a question last year or entering this year. But as SF Gate put it, “In Week 1, he was too reckless. In Week 2, he was too cautious.”

Last year, he was too incredible for us to handle. So which Jimmy G will we get?

Well, if we base it off of the defense Jimmy Garoppolo is facing, it is a resounding vote for the third option. The Chiefs, as mentioned before, cannot stop anyone. I’m going to list some stats to explain just how terrible they have been.

A total of 1,016 yards allowed, 65 points allowed, 860 passing yards allowed (per ESPN). To put these in perspective, the 49ers have allowed 770 total yards. The Chiefs have allowed 90 more yards passing than the 49ers have in total.

And it’s not because of unlucky circumstances. This Chiefs defense was known to be bad entering the year. Losing their best cover man, now-Los Angeles Rams corner Marcus Peters, and not having Eric Berry back, their top safety, typically does that to a team.

This provides a huge opportunity for the 49ers, and specifically Garoppolo, to take advantage of a weak opposition. There will be no issues of receivers being shut down. That’s practically impossible.
