No. 1: Will the 49ers Live Up to the Hype?

The 49ers took the league by storm at the end of the 2017 season, going 5-0 with shiny new quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo under center and beating playoff teams such as the Titans and Jaguars and the second-string Rams (L.A. locked up its playoff berth by Week 17).

So naturally the media is hyping San Francisco up to have a turnaround season like last year’s Rams.

But will the 49ers actually have a season to remember? Last year the media was all over the Buccaneers and look how that turned out.

However, this San Francisco team isn’t the Buccaneers. These are the 49ers led by head coach Kyle Shanahan, who remains my biggest reason for optimism. Shanahan is a true offensive genius who knows how to dice up any defense no matter how many star players they add onto their roster (I’m looking at you, Rams).

The defense is no slouch either. With linebacker Reuben Foster only out two games and a revamped secondary, led by Richard Sherman, this team is well balanced.

Well balanced just enough to have the potential to even win a Super Bowl.
