No. 2: Wide Receiver Pierre Garçon

2018 ADP: 8.12

Yes, veteran wideout Pierre Garçon is listed higher on our rankings than Marquise Goodwin despite having a lower ADP (8.12).

More from Niner Noise

One thought on why Garçon is being drafted later than Goodwin is, statistically, the latter outperformed the veteran by nearly 500 yards receiving. But fans remember Garçon went down with a season-ending neck injury exactly halfway through the 2017 season.

And those 500 receiving yards came long before the 49ers were starting Jimmy Garoppolo — a time when the Niners offense was being hindered by sub-par quarterbacking.

Sure, Garçon will turn 32 years old before the season begins, and we’ve reached that point where age becomes something of a concern. But Garçon, even if he loses a step, still has the physicality and toughness ideal for a top-performing possession receiver.

We still haven’t seen him work with Garoppolo either.

If Garçon was already a major force in what otherwise was a lackluster 49ers offense a year ago, one can only imagine he’d be worth grabbing as a WR2 or flex player in the middle rounds of your fantasy football draft.

Garçon’s reliability makes him a worthy target on draft day.
