Defensive Player of the Year: Jacksonville Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey has been in a sharp incline since entering the league in 2016.

More from Niner Noise

His emotional sideline tirade yelling, “I’m tired of losing“, may have motivated him to become one of the best defensive players in the league. Ramsey was a huge contributor to the Jaguars’ massive rise last season.

Not only was he an All-Pro and Pro-Bowl selection, Ramsey also helped his team reach the AFC Conference Championship game against the New England Patriots.

This upcoming season could be the one in which Ramsey finally receives widespread recognition. Particularly, the 6-foot-1, 208-pound cornerback has an excellent shot of winning the Defensive Player of the Year award.

As he enters his third year in the league, Ramsey will undoubtedly get even better. His numbers are likely to increase and his overall performance should further improve on the field week in and week out.

Especially if Jacksonville continues its success in 2018, Ramsey will surely be a frontrunner for the title.
