Round 3: RB Jordan Howard, Chicago Bears

The best player available is Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard, who’s not the most exciting runner in football, but provides good value in the third round. Howard was a top-10 PPR running back last season, and although he’s being drafted in the RB2 range, he’s in position to repeat as a low-end RB1.

Chicago’s offense should improve in 2018 given their aggressive offseason, and although multiple targets were added, the end result should be a more balanced offense — meaning less defensive focus on the Bears’ running game.

We weren’t interested in any of the other running back options at this spot, and there were question marks surrounding all of the available wide receivers, like the feast-or-famine Tyreek Hill, the aged Larry Fitzgerald and both of the Minnesota Vikings’ receivers. Instead, we take boring over flashy, lock down our second RB and look to the next round for a potential second receiver.
