No. 4: EDGE Olasunkanmi Adeniyi

Age: 20 years old

Height: 6 feet 2 inches

Weight: 248 pounds

Right now, San Francisco has a hole on its defensive line at edge rusher. The team did sign Jeremiah Attaochu in free agency, but the pass rusher’s career has been hampered by injuries. There’s a lot of unknown still remaining at the position.

Toledo’s Olasunkanmi Adeniyi is a player who could help to fill that void. Adeniyi is smaller than your average NFL defensive end, and that may prevent some teams from drafting him.

As PFF notes though, sometimes Adeniyi’s size is his advantage.

"His lack of size works for him at times, as he can get under blockers both as a pass-rusher and in the run game, though he’ll also get engulfed and taken out of plays as well."

Admittedly, there will be times when Adeniyi is outmatched and will make little impact. There will also be times when his quickness is too swift for the other team’s blocker to react.

What stood out to me the most in Adeniyi’s tape is his relentlessness. Rarely did Adeniyi give up on a play, and even when taken out at the initial stage, he still found a way to get to the quarterback.

In college, Adeniyi was No. 15 in pass rushing productivity (12.5) and No. 7 in run stop percentage (9.3) among edge defenders, per PFF.

Out of all edge defenders, Adeniyi comes in ranked at No. 19 for PFF, and NFLDraftScout.com projects him as a fifth-round pick.
