NFL power rankings: Final 32-team breakdown ahead of the 2018 draft
By Peter Panacy
The New York Giants climb a couple of spots in our NFL power rankings, but that has more to do with what the other teams behind them lack rather than anything New York did.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Giants are fielding trade offers for wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. The asking price appears to be two first-round draft picks, which is pretty steep and a reason why he likely stays in New York this season.
The Giants also made moves to address the offensive line this offseason, which was a pretty terrible and banged-up unit last year. Bringing aboard offensive linemen Nate Solder and Patrick Omameh should help matters a lot.
Still, the main focus for the G-Men will be how much quarterback Eli Manning has left in the tank. He could bounce back from a forgettable 2017 campaign, or last year could easily be a sign of things to come.
With the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, one might expect New York to find its plan of succession.
