No. 2: Harold Landry (Boston College)

You want pass rush? You got it in Boston College’s Harold Landry.

I like to think of Harold Landry as Hercules Mata’Afa on steroids. Coming in at 6-foot-3 and 250 pounds, Landry possesses a very similar frame to Mata’Afa. However, Landry does almost everything better.

And this isn’t even knocking Mata’Afa — I mean, I just recommended him!

Landry has this special burst that immediately gets through offensive linemen. He seems to have a very simple list of things he needs to do on each snap:

  1. Get off the line of scrimmage.
  2. Easily get through the blocker.
  3. Make the tackle on the ball carrier.

This is the task for any defensive lineman, but I had to say it for Landry because he goes through these steps so quickly that he makes it look incredibly simple.

Landry has this special game-level speed to him on the field, and he uses it to perfection. He will be a dominant force in the NFL, something the 49ers could use.
