Niner Noise dishes out our NFL power rankings following Super Bowl LII, breaking down where each team stands now the offseason is upon us. How does this set the tone for 2018?

We can finally put the 2017 season in the books following the Philadelphia Eagles’ 41-33 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII, meaning it’s time for NFL power rankings heading into the offseason.

Last year certainly had some surprises. Who would have guessed the Minnesota Vikings would have ridden the hot hand of perennial backup quarterback Case Keenum all the way to a conference championship game?

Doing so, they beat a New Orleans Saints team in the Divisional Round that featured a stout defense and potent running game — a major shift in the pass-happy attack we’ve long associated with Saints quarterback Drew Brees and Co.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers went from a laughingstock to possible 2018 playoff contender. This, thanks almost solely to the midseason trade pickup of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

The Los Angeles Rams were a nice surprise. So were the Buffalo Bills, each with first-year head coaches at the helm.

As far as the Cleveland Browns? Well, some things just seem to always stay the same.

What surprises can we expect in 2018? Who will be the teams rising to the top seemingly out of nowhere?

In this edition of Niner Noise’s NFL power rankings, we’ll look at the situation each team faces now their respective 2017 campaigns are closed. This will factor into our ranking criteria, as both free agency and the 2018 NFL Draft loom ahead.

At least the Browns are in good position there.
