There could be a lot of quarterback movement around the NFL this offseason, and Niner Noise predicts the actions by quarterback-needy teams heading into 2018 in this edition of “who goes where?”

The NFL landscape is going to change quite a bit this offseason, especially coming off a year in which quarterback play was pretty bad.

Last December, we broke down five teams in need of a quarterback in 2018. In no particular order, they were:

  • New York Giants
  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Cleveland Browns
  • Denver Broncos
  • New York Jets

One could arguably throw the Washington Redskins, depending on what happens with Kirk Cousins, into that mix. Other teams, like the New England Patriots or Pittsburgh Steelers, could be looking for heir apparents to their future Hall of Famers under center.

Cousins is the most intriguing of all the free-agent quarterbacks possibly hitting the market. That is if the Redskins don’t franchise tag him again.

The New Orleans Saints could lose out on the veteran, Drew Brees, but I don’t see that happening.

There is always the trade route, as the San Francisco 49ers made possible by acquiring Jimmy Garoppolo from the Patriots prior to the NFL trade deadline. And the 2018 NFL Draft boasts a pretty deep stock of prospects to watch.

So looking back at those five most-needy teams, let’s predict which quarterbacks — pro and going pro — go where in 2018.
