The bad

Dontae Johnson rollercoaster

For cornerback Dontae Johnson, it was a wild affair. Johnson recorded his second interception of his career in the second quarter, also returning the turnover back for a touchdown. It was a huge momentum swing for the 49ers, putting them up 16-2.

But after that, it was tough sledding for Johnson.

Two penalties and a handful of rough plays quickly wiped out any positive from Johnson. It got to the point that Johnson was benched in favor of Tyvis Powell. That is not a good sign, and represents the unevenness displayed by Johnson.

Powell was eventually replaced with Johnson, but nonetheless it was a rocky outing from the fourth-year cornerback.

Late lead almost blown

This may seem illogical to point out, especially considering they won, but the 49ers did almost blow an 18-point lead late in the 4th quarter.

The team is still obviously very new to winning, and any win they can come by should be welcomed with open arms. If this team is truly indeed to take the next step, then those kinds of instances cannot occur.

Being up 18 points is a lead that should always feel safe. After touchdowns by running back T.J. Yeldon and Bortles, the Jaguars were still down 10 with just about two minutes left in the game.

But a special teams blunder, an especially bad one, nearly let Jacksonville back into the game and making it far closer than it ever should have been.
