Week 14 by the numbers

Ever since San Francisco traded for Garoppolo, all eyes on have been on the Eastern Illinois product. Every start he makes from here on out will be scrutinized.

Despite failing to find the end zone, Garoppolo did not disappoint. For the game, Garoppolo finished 26-37 for 293 yards and one interception. The turnover should be not counted against Garoppolo, as wide receiver Louis Murphy Jr. had the ball stripped midair from him by cornerback Kyle Fuller.

It was on 3rd down where Garoppolo impressed, where the 49ers converted 55.6 percent (10-18) of their attempts. Here is one of those third down-conversions.

The player on the receiving end? Trent Taylor, who had himself his best game as a professional. Taylor had six receptions for 92 yards, with five of those catches coming on 3rd down.

It really was a breakout showing from Taylor, and offers a glimpse of what could come later on.

For the game, the 49ers dominated time-of-possession, holding onto to the ball for 38 minutes and 14 seconds compared to just 21 minutes and 13 seconds for the Bears. High snap counts for the San Francisco defense has been an issue for the team in the past, so it will be interesting to see if that continues.
