W, 23-3 at Bills. Previous: . New England Patriots. 1. team. 47.

It took them a while to get back to the top spot in our NFL power rankings, but the Patriots are back at No. 1 after knocking off the Bills 23-3 in a game that was made more interesting thanks to quarterback Tom Brady’s sideline antics towards offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and tight end Rob Gronkowksi’s dirty hit on Bills corner Tre’Davious White.

Gronk will be suspended one game, but we’re pretty certain New England’s offense will be fine without him.

Gronkowsi was having a stellar game, though, so one has to wonder why he’d take out his frustrations on an opposing player. Credit to him for apologizing after the game, but it was a foolish move.

Nevertheless, New England is the hottest thing going in football right now. Head coach Bill Belichick’s last loss — Week 4 versus the Panthers — seems like a lifetime ago. And all that chatter about the Pats’ bad defense has evaporated.

We’ve warned you before — never count the Patriots out until they’re actually out.
