Niner Noise takes a look at NFL Week 10 and dishes out our straight-up pick predictions for this weekend’s slate of matchups. Can the San Francisco 49ers pull off their first victory of 2017?

Week 9 of NFL action was filled with some blowouts and mismatches, and this upcoming week of games could offer up even more.

Week 10 kicks off with a Thursday Night Football NFC West matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks. While the Cardinals managed to overtake the San Francisco 49ers last week, is anyone really thinking they can muster up enough from running back Adrian Peterson against Seattle’s defense?

Probably not.

San Francisco 49ers

Speaking of those 49ers, they host the 1-7 New York Giants this week. Hooray for teams with a combined 1-16 record this deep into the season! If you’re not a fan of either those two teams but find yourself watching the game, well, you’re pretty sadistic.

Interestingly enough, the Niners are actually favored by one point this contest, according to Sportsbook Review. It’s the first time the 49ers haven’t been underdogs this season.

Is that enough to justify a win prediction in our straight-up picks for Week 10?

Let’s take a look.

Seahawks 25, Cardinals 16

The Seahawks run defense is good, not great, but good enough to ensure Peterson won’t amass the kind of yardage he did versus the Niners last week.

That means Arizona quarterback Drew Stanton will have to throw the ball. Advantage: Seahawks.

Vikings 23, Redskins 20

Washington gets to go up against yet another good defense in back-to-back weeks, although this one ranks even higher than Seattle. The Vikings are getting by with quarterback Case Keenum and dominating on the defensive side of the ball.

Oh, and Minnesota is coming off a bye week. Head coach Mike Zimmer’s squad will be rested and prepared.

Titans 21, Bengals 13

The Bengals offense is terrible, and the Titans appear to have turned things around after some early season woes. Tennessee has won three in a row, which Cincinnati still can’t get out of its own way.

Dallas is simply the better team here.

Giants 18, 49ers 13

Nope, the 49ers don’t win here. The only basis for this is 2017 has proven to all of us not to count on a Niners win. And San Francisco has had a knack of making bad teams look good over the past couple of years.

But if we wrong about this prediction, great. Losing streak over!

Patriots 27, Broncos 20

Let’s not bank on any team with Brock Osweiler starting at quarterback. Especially against that other QB on the field during this game.

Panthers 30, Dolphins 9

Carolina quarterback Cam Newton is so much fun to watch when he wins. The same can’t be said when he loses.

Next: NFL power rankings, Week 10: Plenty of blowouts and big losers

With the Dolphins in an apparent tailspin, Newton will be smiling during his press conference.
