45. . . . Denver Broncos. 6. team

The Broncos fall a spot in our NFL power rankings after falling bad on Sunday Night Football to the previously winless Giants. If the immovable teams on bye weeks weren’t a factor, we’d likely be able to bounce them down even further.

Denver’s offense found zero continuity against a suddenly stout Giants defense. Quarterback Trevor Siemian wasn’t effective, and there was even a Brock Osweiler sighting — albeit just a short amount of time before the half while Siemian was out with a hand injury.

A big reason behind the Broncos struggles was the lack of a ground attack. In total, Denver rushed for a mere 46 yards, and Siemian isn’t good enough to put the offense on his own shoulders.

Where was Denver’s top-ranked defense, though?

Let’s go ahead and write off this loss as one of those weird games that makes any regular season unpredictable. But the failed opportunity means the Broncos can’t pick up a game on the Kansas City Chiefs, who also lost in Week 6.
