16. . 3-1. . Buffalo Bills. 19. team

We can’t be ready to crown the Buffalo Bills AFC East champions just yet. But if the season ended today, that’s exactly what head coach Sean McDermott’s squad would be.

Weird, especially for a team many thought was trying to tank this season.

The Bills make a modest climb up our NFL power rankings this week after dropping the mighty Atlanta Falcons on the road 23-17. That’s pretty impressive, especially on defense, but let’s see that effort replicated a few more times before justifying a move further up this list.

In total, Buffalo allowed 391 all-purpose yards to Atlanta. That’s not bad, especially considering the number of weapons the Falcons have on offense. But those three forced turnovers by the Bills defense speak measures.

It will be interesting to see whether or not the Bills can shut down quarterback Andy Dalton and the Bengals on the road in Week 5. If so, Buffalo could be one of those sleeper teams nobody predicted.
