New Orleans Saints. 18. team. 15. . 2-2.

Is it weird to think the Saints defense actually carried the day for New Orleans in London?

Well, a lot of the Saints’ 20-0 shutout victory over the Dolphins could be attested to Miami’s lack of offensive prowess this season, but give credit where it’s due. Anytime a unit can hold an opponent to 186 all-purpose yards is noteworthy.

And it’s good when that stat line means quarterback Drew Brees is given more opportunities to flourish.

He did, going 29-of-41 for 268 yards and two touchdowns.

Brees and the Saints are going to be tough opponents for anyone this season, even if we shouldn’t expect this same defense to replicate its efforts for the remainder of 2017.

New Orleans gets a bye week in Week 5, which should help the jet lag experienced from traveling to the United Kingdom and back.
