Wide Receiver Pierre Garçon

One of the main reasons Brian Hoyer’s passing numbers were so high was wide receiver Pierre Garçon.

Garçon was an absolute beast for San Francisco’s offense, hauling in seven receptions and leading both teams’ receivers with 142 yards.

This 59-yard catch was a beauty:

And who can forget this amazing toe-drag grab at the sideline:

The 49ers needed to get Garçon involved in the passing game more after the first two weeks, where the aerial attack struggled.

It’s a good thing this happened, as it certainly opened up more opportunities for San Francisco’s passing game later on.

While he might not be the ideal No. 1 receiver on most good teams, Garçon is clearly the best receiving weapon in the Niners’ arsenal this season, and the 31-year-old veteran showed he’s still perfectly capable of offering major contributions.

Now, the 49ers are forced to go on the road for three consecutive games against the Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins in Weeks 4 through 6, respectively.

If San Francisco can manage to consistently run both its offense and defense these three games, we may see a turn of fortunes on the trip.
