It was an enthralling game on Thursday Night Football, but the San Francisco 49ers came out on the short end of it losing 41-39 to the Los Angeles Rams. Here are the full postgame grades and analysis for the matchup.

Despite their best efforts, the San Francisco 49ers now sit at 0-3 for the season after falling to the Los Angeles Rams in a Thursday night shootout. The game against the Rams was the team’s best offensive showing yet, but a letdown on defense and miscues doomed the 49ers.

Now in a hole to begin the season, San Francisco will be playing catch up all year in the win-loss column. Looking ahead at the schedule for the 49ers, another 2-14 season is not out of the realm of questioning.

While quarterback Jared Goff had a career game, running back Todd Gurley couldn’t be held out of the end zone. It was an all-around dominant display of offense from Los Angeles.

The 49ers just simply could not stop the Rams offense all game, and it obvious San Francisco is missing their injured defenders. The absence of linebacker Reuben Foster and safety Eric Reid was apparent against Los Angeles.

In all, it was a lopsided performance from the 49ers. Here are the full grades and analysis from the matchup.
