Quarterback Comparison

The matchup fans are eager to see is the quarterback saga starring Colin Kaepernick and Aaron Rodgers.

In four contests, the count is 3-1 in favor of Kaepernick. Two of those wins coming in the playoffs, one of them highlighted by a postseason record of 181 rushing yards set by Kaepernick himself.

The third contest took place in Week 1 of the 2013 NFL season where Kap set a personal best with 412 passing yards.

Although Rodgers’ history with the 49ers has been rocky, he was able to record the win last season, finally getting the monkey off his back. He accomplished this feat without his star receiver, Jordy Nelson.

Rodgers and the Packers won by a score of 17-3 and improved their record to 4-0. The loss for the 49ers was their third straight.

As stated earlier, Kaepernick has yet to play a down this preseason, so fans have nothing to base his performance on just yet. Rodgers has also missed the beginning of preseason. Though he’s been on the sidelines to support his franchise, the two-time MVP has been seen wearing street clothes.

On Friday, August 26, the rivalry will continue.
