Significant 49ers injuries

San Francisco’s most significant loss is starting linebacker Aaron Lynch. Though he is not out because of injury, he is still an important part of the 49ers defense. By now, it’s old news, but he has been suspended until Week 5 of the regular season for violation of the substance abuse policy.

The 49ers will also be without defensive lineman Ian Williams, quarterback Thad Lewis and wide receiver Eric Rogers who are all lost for the season.

These are key injuries for the team, but with the roster still not finalized, finding replacements for them is at least a manageable situation with competition still going on in preseason.

The team may also be without linebacker Nick Bellore, who has provided solid play across the board the first two games of preseason, and wide receiver DeAndre Smelter who figures to be a big part of the offense this year. No word yet on whether they will see the field.

They are both week-to-week.
