The 2016 NFL Draft is less than two weeks away, and the San Francisco 49ers are on the clock with 12 picks. They have the well-earned seventh pick in the first round and many positional needs. We’ll take a look here at some of the most pressing needs in the first three rounds and look to add depth later on.

The recent trade the St. Louis Rams made to move to the No. 1 overall pick throws a wrench into possibly selecting a quarterback at pick seven and even if the Jared Goff or Carson Wentz are available, the 49ers should avoid taking either one. Neither quarterback is worthy of a first round pick and would not even be first picks in previous drafts.

Positional needs to be prioritized by any team looking to get back to being competitive. Two areas the 49ers absolutely need to improve the most are the offensive line and adding defensive line depth. The offensive line ranked 32nd in the run game and 31st in the pass, according to Football Outsiders DVOA measure.

However, it’s unlikely Ole Miss tackle Laremy Tunsil will be available at No. 7 and, in that case, the 49ers should prioritize the best player available at a position of need.

But who should they take in the first round and later rounds? Lets get started.
