49ers Win Big, Lose Gore
The 49ers are now 3-1 with Troy Smith starting at quarterback after dominating the Cardinals in the desert on Monday Night Football. The win was not all good news as running back Frank Gore is most likely done for the season after breaking his hip. This is bad for the 49ers but we saw an encouraging sign with Brian Westbrook rushing for over 100 yards. Let’s hope Westbrook can keep this up against a good Packers defense. I will update this post with Game Gold Nuggets later today. .
49ers vs. Cardinals: 5 Things to Watch For
San Francisco 49ers (3-7) vs. Arizona Cardinals (3-7) University of Phoenix Stadium Kickoff: 5:30 PM (PST) Playoff hopes: Only in the NFC West can the 49ers and Cardinals, who both have 3-7 records, still be considered in the NFC West division race. The 49ers need to win the rest of their remaining six games to finish 9-7 to even think about the playoffs. Or as Frank Gore put it, this is “March Madness, man.” True the 49ers and Cardinals have to win out the rest of their games so tonight’s winner could eliminate the losers chances of winning the division. [...]

Is Nike Behind 49ers New Uniform?
Word around the NFL is that Nike will be the new makers of team uniforms in 2012. Currently Reebok holds the contract for making the uniforms for the NFL. The image below has been floating around the Internet in the past week and on ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption they talked about it as well. Of course quoting information that you find on the “Internets” does not make it real especially since the NFL or Nike has not confirmed that the new uniforms was sketched up by Nike. Other NFL sites at the Fansided.com Sports Network have said the images came [...]
49ers Shutout at Home 21-0
For the first time since 1977 the 49ers have been shutout at Candlestick, unbelievable. After coming off of two straight wins for the first time all season a loss at home against the Buccaneers closes the door on any thoughts of making the playoffs. The game was close through three quarters and the 49ers had opportunities to tie the game early on but conservative offensive play calls sunk the 49ers chances early in the game. By the time offensive coordinator Mike Johnson started taking shots down the field in the second half the Buccaneers had built a 14-0 lead. Not [...]

Recap of 49ers Win Over Rams
The 49ers won their second straight game thanks to Troy Smith’s poise and the defense stopping the Rams on drives that only lead to field goals. Overall it is great to get the third win of the season especially against a division foe in the Rams. However the 49er Faithful should be concerned about the three touchdowns that were negated because of penalty’s. Against any of the current playoff contending teams this season the 49ers would have lost the game. In the end we got a W in the win column and with Smith’s performance any questions of who should [...]
49ers Win Second Straight Game
Back from vacation and lo and behold I find the 49ers on their first winning streak of the season and are 2-0 under quarterback Troy Smith. The three touchdowns negated because of penalties is a cause of concern but in the end the 49ers pulled out the win and had no turnovers. I will have a post up on Tuesday to hand out Game Gold Nuggets. .

San Francisco 49ers Mid-Season Report
During the 49ers bye week we reached the half-way point of the season and needless to say our team has not lived up to preseason expectations. At the midway point of the season I thought the 49ers would have a 5-3 record with the losses coming against the Saints, Falcons and Broncos. Instead we are 2-6 with wins against the Raiders and Broncos. Since the start of the past off-season up until week ten we have seen a player go AWOL, a player retire, our two high profiled receivers get in a shouting match, an offensive coordinator fired, a veteran [...]
