3 WRs the 49ers would love to land in NFL Draft (but will probably be gone)

The San Francisco 49ers need to add some firepower at wide receiver, which is why it's no surprise that many believe they will select one with their first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The draft is pretty deep at that position this year, and many mock drafts have several wide receivers going early on before the Niners pick at No. 27 overall.

The Niners would surely love to have one of the top wide receiver prospects, but barring a major drop, they will probably be out of San Francisco's grasp.

Let's take a look at three receivers who will probably already be off the board by the time the 49ers make their selection.

Denzel Boston (Washington)

The Niners have not had the greatest success drafting wide receivers out of the University of Washington (see: Dante Pettis), but Boston seems like a solid pick for whoever gets him. In his final season with the Huskies, he had 62 receptions with 881 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Some drafts have him lasting late into the first round, so there is a chance the Niners could get him. But if an earlier team has a need for a red-zone threat, then the 6-foot-4 receiver will probably be gone.

Carnell Tate (Ohio State)

Many view Tate as the top receiver available in the draft. He had 51 catches for 875 yards and nine touchdowns last season for the Buckeyes, and some have him going in the top 10 of the first round, so the 49ers probably will not have a chance to get him.

Jordyn Tyson (Arizona State)

The Niners had pretty good success drafting an Arizona State receiver in Brandon Aiyuk until that relationship took a turn for the worst. Ricky Pearsall also spent a little time at ASU before San Francisco selected him out of Florida.

Tyson will almost certainly be off the board pretty early after he had over 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in his best season for the Sun Devils.

Like any draft, though, a lot of it will be the luck of the draw. There are no guarantees that any of these guys will pan out, and maybe the 49ers get lucky and get the best of the bunch with whoever they take, if they opt to go with a receiver.

The Los Angeles Rams took Puka Nacua in the fifth round, and he is arguably the best receiver in the NFL, so it truly is a craps shoot.

Still, in a perfect world, maybe the Niners would take one of these three receivers to give themselves a boost at that position, but they'll most likely be gone already.
