After a lot of speculation about whether the San Francisco 49ers would reunite with Jauan Jennings, that speculation will likely come to a bitter end after it was reported on Sunday by Fox Sports' Jay Glazer that the Niners and Minnesota Vikings had a trade in place that would have sent Jennings to San Francisco, but it was contingent upon Jennings agreeing to a FaceTime call with general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan to confirm he was on board.

But Jennings refused.

Apparently, Jennings is loving how he has six receptions on the season for 54 yards with Minnesota, but either way, the 49ers now have to move on.

Here are three wide receivers they should target in a trade after the Jennings talks fell apart.

3 veteran WRs 49ers should go after via trade

Keenan Allen

The Niners already made one deal with the Indianapolis Colts by trading for DeForest Buckner, and with Indy obviously in full rebuild mode, San Francisco could probably get veteran Keenan Allen for a sixth- or seventh-round pick pretty easily.

That wouldn't be bad value at all for a guy who has 36 receptions on the season for 325 yards and a touchdown. He's a superior player to Jennings and gives San Francisco the veteran depth it needs, especially if Mike Evans or Deebo Samuel are out for longer than expected.

Calvin Ridley

Right now, Calvin Ridley is wasting away on a 1-7 Tennessee Titans team. Maybe Robert Saleh can throw the Niners a bone and send Ridley over for a draft pick. The Titans were willing to get rid of Jeffery Simmons and he was their best player, so surely, they will be willing to let Ridley go, especially since he has just six receptions for 91 yards this season.

The one problem may be the fact Ridley is under contract for 2027, while San Francisco probably only wants rental options because it doesn't want to be saddled with Ridley if he isn't very good.

Maybe if the 49ers can rework his contract somehow, a trade would materialize.

Quentin Johnston

The Los Angeles Chargers should be sellers as they are still winless on the season, and wide receiver Quentin Johnston could be on the way out the door. He is under contract through the 2027 season and has 12 receptions for 202 yards. At age 25, he would be a more youthful addition to the offense, but that may cost the Niners a higher draft pick.

Of course, San Francisco may opt against trading for a receiver since Evans, Samuel, Demarcus Robinson, and De'Zhaun Stribling should all return before the end of the season, but the Niners should probably get a little more depth just in case.
