How to watch 49ers vs. Bears in NFL Week 14 with and without cable TV
By Peter Panacy
The 49ers host the Bears in what could be a much-needed get-right game in Week 14, and here's how fans can tune in live.
The San Francisco 49ers' playoff hopes are dangling by a thread, and after dropping three games in a row, the only reasonable chance for head coach Kyle Shanahan's squad to get into the postseason dance is to pull off a much-needed victory over the 4-8 Chicago Bears.
At 5-7, the Niners seemingly are experiencing blow after blow, highlighted by what's likely a season-ending PCL injury to All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey, suffered during the Week 13 Sunday Night Football loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Making things worse, McCaffrey's primary backup, Jordan Mason, also landed on injured reserve with a high-ankle sprain.
This only puts more pressure on a depleted San Francisco group, which needs both a massive surge over the final five weeks to get back into the playoff hunt, as well as some help from elsewhere around the league.
Fortunately, the Bears are dealing with their own headaches, including the aftermath of firing head coach Matt Eberflus after a disastrous loss to the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. Under interim head coach Thomas Brown, Chicago will want to at least gain some momentum heading toward the offseason, and helping squash whatever playoff hopes the 49ers have left would help do that.
Here's how fans can tune in live to this showdown.
