49ers legend Vernon Davis has been a friend to both FanSided and the Special Olympics, so it's only fitting to show him some gratitude.

Former San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis' post-NFL career might be more interesting and provocative than the one he displayed on the gridiron.

Not only did Davis involve himself in the most entertaining sport of all time, curling, he also dove into a post-playing career of culinary expertise while cutting his teeth as an actor.

Yes, Davis is everywhere. And he remains just as entertaining as he was when donning the red and gold.

The No. 6 overall pick from the 2006 NFL Draft has also been a regular visitor to the FanSided booth at radio row during Super Bowl week, giving his insight on the big game along with other pertinent topics from around the league.

In coordination with the Special Olympics, FanSided's duo of reporters from Super Bowl 59, Malcom Harris-Gowdie and Wyatt Spalding, wanted to give back to Davis for his efforts.

Davis again befriended the FanSided booth at radio row, shedding some light on his own playing days with the Niners and offering some perspective on the Washington Commanders' recent leap to contention.

At the conclusion, though, Harris-Gowdie and Spalding wanted to gift Davis with his very own Special Olympics signed football, which the former tight end graciously accepted:

"You send me home nicely," Davis responded upon receiving the gift.

Davis' regular appearances with FanSided on radio row have been no shortage of exellent insight and entertainment, and we'll certainly look forward to seeing him again in the not-so-distant future.
